What can only be described as an earthworm graveyard, more than 10,000 dead earthworms have been found in a car park in the north of Japan
Local residents first noticed the dead earthworms around the evening of the 5th of may and numbers kept increasing until the entire 250m² carpark was riddled with them.
It’s an ordinary type of earthworm. He assumes they came from the near greenery to the parking lot for water because of the intense heat and died there. Citizens nearby the area talks, “I haven’t seen such a thing. Is this because of the intense heat.” or “It may increase more.” – Fukushima Diary.
Could It Be a sign….
After doing a bit more investigation in to why a phenomena like this occurs I came across an article that was published on the 3rd of June 2011, By Ken. The article describes a similar account of massive earthworm deaths and some reasons as to why it occurred. What is most interesting about this particular post is the update at the end which accounts an earthquake 2 days after the initial earthworm deaths. Food for thought?
